Vietnam is today one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. The continued industrialisation and rural-urban migration has put strains on the nation's water resources to keep up with the demand for potable water. Vietnam's urban population is projected to reach 30.4 million by 2010 and it is estimated that there will be 46 million urban dwellers by 2020. The urbanisation rate is expected to increase to 33 per cent by 2010 and 45 per cent by 2020. Water and sewerage projects are underway to improve both water supply and quality
and to improve sanitation.

At the same time, industrial and commercial water users will need to improve water treatment processes to ensure sustainable supplies. As such, Vietnam is today one of the most attractive markets for suppliers of water and wastewater technologies and system in Asia.

Billed as Vietnam's Official Water and Wastewater Industry Show, Vietwater 2008 is the only event that has the full support of Southeast Asia Water Utilities Network and the Vietnam Water Supply Association. In addition, Vietwater 2008 is organised by the region's top event manager for the water and wastewater industry.
